We have conducted a bird watch around our school grounds to see which breed of birds visit us. We found magpies, pigeons and a small nest of sparrows and blue tits.
To help the birds in our schools ground through the winter we have filled up the feeders. We have used nuts, seeds and dried insect as well as fat balls. Net week we are going to identify some of the birds we can see around school.
During PSHE lessons in year one, they have been learning about the importance of recycling and re-using. The children had to sort different objects into the right category.

We were very lucky to have some trees donated by a member of the salvation army to plant in our school. We have planted a number of hazel, rowan and crab apple trees in and around the school grounds. We hope that by growing these trees it will encourage lots more wildlife to our school! Thank you to Mr. Woods and Marie from the salvation army for helping us!
